The sunsets up our way are so tempting to photograph. But this sort of photo takes watching and waiting for the perfect timing of sailboat and the setting sun's reflection on the water.

The US Coast Guard, stationed in nearby Dollar Bay, was on hand at the Great Cardboard Boat Regatta in case anyone was to need rescue from a not-so-great (i.e. sinking or capsized) cardboard boat.

New in 2000, the Keweenaw Star is providing cruises on the Keweenaw Waterway. I'm going to have to ask the folks at Keweenaw Excursions to adjust their schedule slightly. If they had come through two minutes earlier, the sun would still have been a fiery orange ball on the horizon. (25K)
